How the wintop weekly product leaderboard works

Bid for the next Wednesday leaderboard while this week's winners receive seven full days of display.

Wednesday weekly cycles

One UTC boundary

Every cycle switches Wednesday at 00:00 UTC, with no daylight saving adjustment.

Bid one week ahead

Bids collected this week form the board displayed during the following week.

Seven days on display

A completed board remains the default homepage ranking until the next Wednesday switch.

Fresh totals

Every product starts each new cycle at $0. Payments never carry into another week.

The homepage shows the current display board first. The next-week view shows paid bids arriving for the upcoming board in real time. Completed weeks with bids remain available in the public archive.

Bidding and ranking

A new product may enter a cycle for at least $2, even below first place. Once a product already has a bid in that cycle, its next target must beat the current first place by at least $1. Checkout charges only the difference between the target and that product's amount in the same cycle.

Final ranking uses bidAmountCents DESC, rankedAt ASC, id ASC. A product's weekly amount is the sum of completed, unrefunded contributions for that cycle. Taxes never increase rank. When amounts tie, the earlier latest contribution time ranks first.

Anyone may support a valid product link. wintop does not ask for ownership proof.

Checkout and the weekly boundary

Checkout opens in a new tab and lasts 15 minutes. wintop stops creating sessions during the final 15 minutes before Wednesday 00:00 UTC so a session cannot extend into another bidding week.

A checkout prediction is not a reservation. Only a valid signed Waffo order.completed webhook can add a contribution. The Waffo completion time must fall inside the intent's bidding window, but a delayed webhook may arrive after the board switches and still fulfill the correct cycle.

Ranking may change while checkout is open. The final position is calculated when the payment is fulfilled, not when the checkout page first opens.

Refunds and archives

A successful refund removes only that payment's contribution from its assigned weekly cycle. If a product reaches $0, only that weekly entry is removed. Its product metadata and entries in other weeks remain unchanged.

Refunds can adjust a current or archived board. A duplicate Waffo order or webhook delivery is fulfilled only once.

Allowed links

Submit a product website, an X handle, or a supported product or profile page. X handles may contain 1-15 letters, numbers, or underscores.

Product identity: Normal websites preserve their hostname, product path, and meaningful query parameters. App Store, Google Play, GitHub, LinkedIn, and YouTube use stable product or profile identifiers.

Tracking removal: Fragments and known campaign parameters such as utm_*, fbclid, and gclid are removed.

Not allowed: Private networks, cloud metadata addresses, chat invitations, adult content, embedded credentials, and configured blocked domains.

Short links: wintop follows at most three redirects and stores the safe final destination.

Clicks, visitors, and privacy

Outbound clicks pass through wintop. One visitor counts once per weekly entry in a 30-minute window, so the same product starts a separate click total in every cycle. Destinations receive wintop referral UTM parameters containing the weekly cycle.

An anonymous HttpOnly visitor cookie powers deduplication. A visible visitor counts as online for 90 seconds after the last heartbeat, and once in the last-hour total for 60 minutes.
